March 24, 2016
Leitchfield, KY – Becker's Healthcare has published the 2016 edition of its list, "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare" and for the fourth year in a row, Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield has been named as being one of the best healthcare organizations to work in the United States. Becker's Hospital Review, a national healthcare journal based in Chicago, has published the 2016 edition of its “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare”. TLRMC is the only hospital in Kentucky to receive the honor.
The list features both U.S. healthcare provider organizations, such as hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgical centers and home health agencies, as well as other types of healthcare-specific companies, like consulting firms, health IT vendors, medical societies and more. A version of this list has been published every year since 2011, but this is the third year the list features both providers and nonprovider organizations.
Wayne Meriwether, MHA, Chief Executive Officer at TLRMC is excited about the hospital being grouped with nationally known healthcare providers.
“We’re appreciative of this recognition by Becker’s Hospital Review, but realize that it wouldn’t be possible without our staff of highly trained medical professionals. They take seriously our mission to heal the sick, relieve pain and suffering and improve the quality of life for the people in our community. While many hospitals provide excellent patient care, I believe it’s our caring staff that sets TLRMC apart from other healthcare facilities.”
The Becker's Healthcare editorial team determined the organizations included on this year's list. Organizations that submitted nominations were considered, as were organizations that received national, state or local recognition previously earned for workplace excellence, as well as benefits offerings, wellness initiatives, and efforts to improve professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and a sense of community among employees.
The 2016 edition of "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare" includes the following prestigious healthcare organizations: (Listed in alphabetical order) Boston Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Henry Ford Health System (Detroit), Mayo Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston), MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston), Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (New Brunswick, NJ), St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis), UAB Medicine (Birmingham), and the University of Michigan Health System.
This list is not an endorsement of included hospitals, health systems, associated healthcare providers or businesses. Organizations cannot pay for inclusion on this list. Hospitals are presented in alphabetical order. The full list including individual profiles of all organizations can be read from a link on the TLRMC Facebook page and Twitter account or by going to www.beckershosptialreview.com.
To develop their list, the Becker's Healthcare editorial team conducted research, considered nominations and evaluated organizations based on their benefits, workplace culture, professional development opportunities and previous recognition for workplace excellence. The resulting list is a compilation of 150 healthcare organizations that go above and beyond for their employees and are great places to work.
Kimberley Rayls, TLRMC Director of Human Resources, says being recognized as one of Becker’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare is a true honor.
“Being named one of Becker’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare is a testament to the wonderful staff at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. Their daily dedication to providing the highest level of service to the community is what separates TLRMC from other healthcare facilities.”
One example of employee involvement Rayls cited is the Twin Lakes Way Committee, a group made up of employees from several hospital departments. “The Twin Lakes Way Committee is an inter-departmental group that strives to improve patient satisfaction as well as employee satisfaction. Our staff works hard each and every day and this committee is dedicated to celebrating our staff and showing them how much their efforts are appreciated.”
