The Thomas Ambulatory Surgery Center was named in honor of the late Ralph G. Thomas, M.D.  Dr. Thomas practiced general surgery in Grayson County from 1953 until the time of his death in 1989. Prior to that, he served as a surgeon with the Fifth Armor Division, U.S. Army Medical Corps, during the Korean War.

OUTPATIENT / SAME DAY SURGERY

Ambulatory/Outpatient Surgery, or "Same Day Surgery" as it is often called, is one of the ways Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center is helping to control the cost of quality health care. Outpatient Surgery provides quality care without expense and inconvenience of an overnight stay. By entering and leaving the hospital on the same day, you eliminate the cost of overnight care and round-the-clock activities associated with a hospital stay. You have the safety of the routine hospital visit as well as the added convenience of a comfortable recovery at home.

However, while Outpatient Surgery is more affordable, we offer you the security of knowing those special cases requiring an overnight stay can be placed in 23-hour observation or admitted as an inpatient to our fully-equipped, acute care hospital.  Our goal is to provide quality care in a comfortable environment.
