Together, we'll help the community take shape.

A healthy community is a strong community. That is why the City of Leitchfield, the Grayson County Fiscal Court, the Grayson County School System, and Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center have embarked on a $6 million fundraising campaign to build a healthplex that will benefit the entire community.

Under the slogan, "Together, we'll help the community take shape", city, county, school, hospital and community leaders publicly announced the venture at a fundraising kickoff in September of last year.

The healthplex, to be built in Leitchfield off Wallace Avenue near the hospital and planned new Judicial Complex, will feature state-of-the-art exercise equipment plus fitness programs and classes for all ages -- all under one roof. Designed to offer a wide variety of health benefits to every member of the community, the facility will include: a junior-sized Olympic pool; an indoor gym for basketball and volleyball; a therapy pool; a three-lane indoor walking track; a strength and conditioning area; an aerobics classroom; a cardiovascular and weight training area; a community meeting room and classroom; locker rooms; offices; and a snack bar area. In addition, resources will also be provided for: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cardiac therapy, aquatic therapy, sports medicine applications, and disease prevention programs.
