Parking changes take effect

The main parking lot in front of the hospital has been closed for the $15 million expansion/renovation project.

Drivers can not get to the Cave Bland parking lot area from Wallace Avenue or to the Kelley parking area from the Byway entrance. Signs have been posted to direct visitors and employees to parking areas.

Access to the Emergency Department and Registration entrance is now only be from the Wallace Avenue entrance.

The construction has taken away all parking in the front of the main hospital building. Carey Sims, Director of Plant Operations, says the hospital is making every effort to make the process as smooth as possible on everyone involved. "In an effort to allow patients and visitors access to the facility as close as possible, we are requiring all facility tenants including those employees of doctor’s offices, Davita and Midway Pharmacy to park in one of the employee designated areas."

Visitors may have to park in a less convenient location if a parking lot is full. "People will always be able to get from one end of the building to the other during the entire construction process," according to Sims. Patients and visitors who need assistance are urged to ask any employee for directions or a wheelchair.
